Live Sound Engineer

Description:

Covenant Presbyterian Church in Bucktown is looking for an audio technician to run sound for their Sunday morning worship services. The Audio Technician should be comfortable using a 32 channel board, 3 monitor mixes for musicians. The musical ensemble is usually limited to 5 people and can include a mix of instrumentation including vocals, piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, upright bass, orchestral (strings, woodwind, brass), keyboard, percussion, etc.

Pay is $20/hr

Duties:

  • Primary FoH engineer for Sunday morning worship services.
  • Arrive for rehearsal, and two worship services (730am - 12:30pm)
  • Setup and teardown stage as needed before or after services.
  • Function as backup for video stream if needed.

Experience and skills required:

  • Experience engineering live audio for music and spoken word.
  • Ability to mix 32 channel board, 3 monitor mixes
  • Ability to take initiative and troubleshoot.
  • Familiarity with various microphone types and appropriate uses (dynamic, condenser, etc)
  • Knowledge of streaming setups including video preferred.
  • Comfortable working with volunteers, musicians both professional and amateur.
