Lead Photographer - Auction House

Potter & Potter Auctions seeks to add a Lead Photographer to its growing team. Primary responsibilities include overseeing and executing all aspects of product photography to produce auction catalogs, both in print and online, as well as images for marketing materials, and associated advertising. The role including both pre- and post- production tasks (editing, batch processes, etc.). Adherence to strict scheduling around shared deadlines and company styles and procedures are also required.

Ideal candidates will possess at least two years of demonstrable experience developing and managing photography workflows and organization, are experienced photographing and editing a wide variety and large quantity of inventory, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.

This is a full-time position with salary and benefits commensurate with experience.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

- Prepping and staging items for photography

- Handling lighting and camera equipment, including adjustment and setting of lights,
setting up sweeps, and drives

- Aiding in the organization and storage of property before and after it has been photographed

- Organize and maintain company’s shared cloud storage software and calendar as it relates to the Photography Department.

- Some coordination and oversight of company’s Instagram.

- Ability to work live auctions on an as needed basis, with some auctions on weekends


Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift 30+ pounds

- Regularly required to work on feet for long periods of time

Qualifications:

2+ years of professional experience in commercial photography, demonstrable proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Bridge.

- Basic managerial experience preferred, but not necessary

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not necessary

- Professional or academic experience handling fragile, valuable, or antique objects

- Experience in archival work a plus

- Ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary
