Kids' Piano Instructor (Substitute)
Summary: The Old Town School of Folk Music seeks substitute piano teachers to teach group classes for children at its Lincoln Square and Lincoln Park locations.
Schedule: After-school hours on weekdays and weekends; Varies
Location: Lincoln Square and Lincoln Park
Duties:
- Work with children, parents, and caregivers to create a positive classroom environment.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Creating lesson plans guided by our curriculum and training.
- Handle administrative tasks and maintain interdepartmental communications as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Music Education or Performance preferred
- Minimum two years of teaching experience working with children preferred
- Experience teaching private piano lessons and/or group classes preferred
- Must enjoy working with young children and have experience working with children ages 3 - 12
- Ability to teach beginning through advanced levels required
- Candidates must be passionate about children's music education and love working with children and families
- Bilingual in Spanish helpful
- Availability for after-school hours on weekdays and weekends is required

Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music (“OTSFM”) is the largest community school of the arts in the U.S. and a non-profit organization committed to celebrating American music and global cultures. Old Town School of Folk Music opened its Lincoln Square facility in 1998 and expanded in 2012.
