Gallery Shop Coordinator
Essential Job Functions:
Gallery artists
- Coordinate with Outreach and Artist programs to display work for upcoming Visiting Artist workshops and lectures.
- Work with the Outreach and Artist programs director to develop a featured artists series each year.
- Communicate consistently with current artists carried in our shop
- Consistently reach out to artists to promote the representation of new and diverse artists
Sales
- Manage the merchandising of the store
- Assist in the installation of all artist's exhibitions and features
- Spend time engaging customers on the floor each day
- Work with Marketing Director to develop a strategy to utilize the gallery’s Instagram
Website
- Photograph new work and upload it to the gallery website.
- Ensure accurate inventory for work sold on the website, gallery store, and backstock.
Other
- Assist class advisors with registration and gallery sales as requested
- Assist class advisors during class check-in weeks, the opening of class registrations, and be present as front desk representative for special events and public programs
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of gallery operations experience.
• Knowledge of social media and internet platforms.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
• Self-sufficient and proactive.
• Proficient with WordPress.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, growing organization.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of contemporary ceramics
• Experience photographing 3-dimensional artwork
Educational Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Art or Art Management required.
Work Hours :
Monday - Thursday 10:30 – 6:30 PM, Saturday 10 - 6 PM. Some evenings and additional weekend hours are required for special events and public programs.
Reports to: Artist Programs and Outreach Director
Status: Full-time (40 hrs) / Exempt
Salary: 52k/annually
