Full Spectrum Features INTERNSHIPS
Full Spectrum Features is a vertically-integrated organization, meaning that we develop, produce, and distribute content. This allows us to offer internships in multiple areas of focus, including creative development, producing, graphic design, creative distribution, and data analytics. FSF internships are best viewed as office internships as we are always developing, producing, and distributing but are not always in production; opportunities to work on set are limited.
Internships are unpaid, but current students can earn academic credit through select local Chicago universities and colleges. Federal work study available to eligible students enrolled at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Please note: Full Spectrum Features is committed to the safety of our team. Internships will be 100% remote until it is safe to return to a physical office, as per the guidelines of the CDC and the Illinois Department of Health. Upon return to a physical office, interns will be expected to work from the organization’s physical location: 2233 S Throop St, Chicago, IL 60608.
Now accepting Summer 2021 internship applications for the following areas:
Creative Development interns manage the intake of new submissions, coordinate coverage within the office, read scripts & write coverage, and, where appropriate, give creative notes and collaborate on the development of FSF projects. Other tasks, administrative and/or related to other areas of the organization, may also be assigned.
Creative Distribution interns assist in distribution activities including audience development, public engagement, and non-theatrical distribution. Interns have the opportunity to develop vital skills relevant for jobs in independent film distribution, arts administration, and nonprofit management.
Producing interns will have the opportunity to learn about above-the-line indie film producing and non-profit management. They will gain hands-on experience in our thriving office, working closely with the Full Spectrum staff to support the development, production, and distribution of vital independent media. Specific work assignments will be catered towards the intern's interests and skills when possible.
Design and Video interns will assist with our in-house design and editing projects. This person will create assets for digital and print projects, while maintaining a strong eye towards organizational branding and aesthetic, as well as accessibility. The intern’s work may include motion graphics, video editing for trailers and social media marketing, poster design, branding research, or assisting in website management.
