Full Scholarship: Ballroom, Latin, Swing Certification Program

Ballroom Dance Chicago, renowned for its excellence in Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and wedding dance instruction, is thrilled to offer two scholarship opportunities for part-time Assistant Teachers at Ballroom College. This position is perfect for those with minimal experience but a strong curiosity and passion for Ballroom, Latin, and Swing dances.

We value individuals with dynamic personalities and seek Assistant Teachers who are both thoughtful about their craft and able to bring positivity and energy to the studio. Our ethos centers on being fully present in interactions, fostering engaging human connections, and maintaining a keen eye for detail.

More about the scholarship:

This full scholarship ($3,300 value) provides foundational movement (the equivalent to Bronze 1 & 2) in the following dance styles: Bachata, Cha Cha, Country Western Two-Step, East Coast Swing & Lindy Hop, Foxtrot, Hustle, Night Club Two-Step, Rumba, Salsa, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Waltz, and West Coast Swing. This track is meant for those interested in certification and teaching experience. Both scholarship openings will require the recipient to teach up to 2 lessons per training period to enhance their learning and give them hands-on experience working with clients. All training and teacher training occurs with the oversight, preparation, and input of the fully certified and professional studio manager.

Scholarship Applicant Requirements:

  • Commitment to 8 hours of training weekly on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Commitment to the full 20-week program from January 12, 2024, to May 31, 2024.
  • Previous experience in dance and/or music.

Responsibilities for Assistant Teachers in the Certification Track:

  • Engaging in both self and group study.
  • Approaching tasks with patience and curiosity.
  • Maintaining a positive attitude towards all individuals in the studio.
  • Participating in studio events and activities.
  • Professionalism and attentiveness during lessons.
  • Adherence to studio policies on note-taking.
