Framer / Woodworker

DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a part-time experienced woodshop framer to join our team. The ideal applicant will have experience in the picture framing industry. Experience cutting and joining pre-finished and custom milled picture frames is a must. Your attention to detail and ability to work independently will contribute to the overall success of our projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to operate all framing equipment.
• Meet all framing deadlines
• Surface preparation, which includes cleaning, sanding, and priming surfaces to ensure that the paint adheres properly
• Follow safety guidelines and use protective equipment to ensure personal safety and prevent accidents in the workplace. Ensure that they and others are not exposed to hazardous materials or dangerous conditions.
• Responsible for cleaning up after completing a job, including disposing of used materials and leaving the work area clean and tidy.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficient in using all framing equipment, power tool, such as saws, drills and sanders
• Diligence and attention to detail.
• Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Excellent reading comprehension and capacity to follow written directions.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and measurements.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• At least two years of picture framing experience is required.
• Experience in surface preparation, including dent repair, scratches, etc.
