Position: Facilities Coordinator
The Facilities Coordinator will report to the Chief of Operations in maintaining a safe and well-functioning media center that supports an open yet secure learning environment for participants ages 16 to 24. This person will support daily operations, administer COVID safety procedures as visitors arrive, and collaborate with staff to encourage best practices in the use of space and facilities.
Department: Operations Department
Status: Part-time Hourly, 20 hours per week Tuesday through Friday from 1:30pm to 6:30pm with occasional evenings/weekends as needed.
Salary: Entry-Mid-Career Level Position – Hourly rate $15-$20/Hr
Benefits: Paid sick time earned 1 hour for every 40 hours worked.
75% of Time: Perform receptionist duties (approximately 15 hours a week)
Execute opening/closing checklists in support of open programming hours
Be stationed at the front desk to greet, track, monitor, and register visitors as they arrive
Perform COVID safety protocol such as temperature checks, administer health screener surveys, and provide PPE as needed.
Ensure participant profiles are completed within the Salesforce database
Administer registration materials to new guests/visitors
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Restock office and kitchen supplies
Maintain clean environments including kitchen, front desk and shared spaces
20% of Time: Operations Support (approximately 4 hours a week)
Monitor regular maintenance of equipment and internal systems(e.g. heating system, alarms, security cameras)
Support activities that happen inside/outside the building, such as proper waste disposal, window cleaning, and fire extinguisher service
Check rooms, furniture, and equipment to identify maintenance needs
Assist Operations with vendor and janitorial visits and receivables
5% of Time: Other duties as assigned (approximately 1 hour a week)
This portion of the role allows for each individual to work on additional projects that support the Urban Gateways mission and values, while also encouraging staff to build upon their expertise and/or interests. This may include:
Data entry support
Participating in committees and task forces as schedule allows
Skilled in communicating with all people in a clear and supportive manner, experience with young people a plus
Demonstrates a creative approach to both new opportunities and problem solving
Knowledge of facilities maintenance and usage of basic power tools
Well-organized with the ability to take imitative and work independently
Sound judgement and the ability to think quickly during emergencies
Knowledge of Salesforce, Dropbox and Google Suite experience is a plus
CPR & First Aid Certification a plus, but not required
