Event Staff Contractors

Responsibilities

  • Assist with event set up
    • Set up folding chairs/tables and drink/food stations, etc.
  • Coordinate with Gallery Manager to staff stations during event, including:
    • Front Desk Greeter/Check-In
    • Coat Check
    • Food/Drink Table
    • Runner (Keep an eye on artwork, restock supplies, take out trash, etc.)
  • Assist guests with questions/requests
  • Help communicate the mission of Weinberg/Newton Gallery and partner organization
    • Informational guide will be provided for review prior to event date
  • Inform staff of any potential issues with guests, vendors, facilities, artwork, etc.
  • Assist with event clean up
    • Break down folding chairs/tables and drink/food stations, take out trash, etc.

Pay Rate

  • $20/hour
  • Payment will be made via check by mail or direct deposit within 15 days of event

Event Hiring Procedure

  • Selected candidates will be added to an event staff list
  • All candidates will be reached out to with event date solicitation
  • Contracted staff will be based on availability and first-come, first-served basis

Qualifications

  • Must have a friendly and professional disposition
  • Reliable and committed to a schedule
  • Knowledge/interest in the arts is a plus
  • Expect to stand for at least 2 hours (average length of events)
