Event Intern (Program & Event Assistant) - Night Out in the Parks

The Night Out in the Parks series presents cultural events such as concerts, theater, and dance performances in neighborhood parks throughout the city, making community parks safe havens and hubs of cultural activity. Interns (Program and Event Assistants) will provide pre-event, on-site, and post-event support for park staff, patrons, and artists/arts organizations. This position will be required to travel to different parks all around Chicago. Interns will serve as on-site event hosts and will be responsible for confirming (event logistics), documenting events as they occur, and promoting Night Out in the Parks events to patrons in the parks.

Night Out in the Parks Interns (Program and Event Assistants) may also be called upon to assist with the responsive development, implementation and oversight of active audience management, to ensure the health and safety of all patrons and staff onsite for events. When onsite, staff will serve as a primary point of contact for audiences or park staff requiring additional event support.

This position is part-time/seasonal (25-35 hours per week, June – early October, 2022). Candidates must be Chicago residents and willing to travel to parks throughout the city.Primary Work Location(s)
