Development Director

The Luminarts Cultural Foundation cultivates Chicago's vibrant arts community by supporting exemplary young artists through its competitive programs that offer financial awards, artists opportunities, and mentoring that bridge the gap between education and career.The Development Director works in direct collaboration with the Board, Development Committee, and Executive Director (ED) to execute a comprehensive development plan in order to raise the necessary funds to achieve and enhance Luminarts' mission. The Development Director is responsible for reaching an annual development goal of $550k and strategizing to thoughtfully increase and diversify revenue streams. The Development Director reports directly to the ED. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:Direct Fundraising and Donor ManagmentGrant ManagementProspect ManagementEvent ManagementVolunteer ManagementDevelopment AdministrationDesired Qualities and Qualifications4 or more years of professional development experienceB.A. or B.S. degreeHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Social Media Platforms, and Raiser's EdgeHigh proficiency in wealth screening software iWave and MailChimp of similar automated marketing platfomsExcellent writing, verbal proof reading, and communication skillsNetworked in greater Chicago philanthropic/donor communityPersonal experience in fundraising with a specific focus on closing gifts above $5kFlexible, creative, and willing to take initiativeStarting salary is $85,000. This is a full-time position at 40 hours/week and includes medical, vision, dental insurance, paid time off, and a matching retirement benefit. This position is hybrid and while the person will be based in the greater Chicago region, they are not obliged to be in an office daily.
