Dance Program Coordinator
Music House Dance Program Coordinator oversees the growth and development of Music House’s dance program and works closely with Music House directors to ensure programming is aligned with Music House’s vision and mission. The Dance Program Coordinator collaborates with studio dance teachers, offering support and feedback when necessary, and ensuring teachers are aligned with Music House’s mission. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is committed to applying their creativity and dedication toward the growth of our dance program and is open and adaptable.
Specific Job Duties Include:
- Logistical organization of biannual productions (Winter and Spring)
- Communicating with front of house staff, teachers, and directors regarding ongoing projects, events, and other initiatives
- Regularly meeting with Music House directors and presenting ideas and opportunities to grow our program that supports the vision and mission.
- Overseeing the growth of Music House Dance Company and pursuing performance opportunities for company members
- Observing teachers and providing feedback, ensuring teachers are teaching within Music House’s vision. Ensuring continuity of curriculum.
- Building relationships with Music House Dance families and actively contributing toward building a sense of community in our dance program.
- Maintaining and updating class descriptions, syllabi, and studio schedule
- Meeting with teachers about individual students to create a plan for growth
- Overseeing the curation and distribution of dance “glows and grows” reports (progress reports)
- Aligning studio curriculum with outreach curriculum
- Flexibility to take on more duties depending on what comes up!
Qualifications:
- Dance teaching experience across multiple disciplines (minimum 5 years)
- Bachelor’s degree in dance, arts administration, or related field
- Experience in arts administration
- Experience with production management
- Experience writing curriculum
Schedule: ~20 hours per week.
