Marwen Coordinator of Technology and Digital Learning

The Coordinator of Technology and Digital Learning supports all aspects of Marwen’s technology courses, including digital and darkroom photography, videography, animation, and design. The Coordinator also supports teaching artists and student learning by coordinating technology tools and access across Studio Programs. This person helps staff, youth, and artists use technology in their learning; ensures that Marwen’s technology studios are well-maintained and accessible; and helps with A/V and printing needs across courses, exhibitions, and events. We are looking for someone with an active digital photography practice who loves working with young people and artists and has a knack for problem-solving and learning new technologies.


Studio Program Support

  • Act as main point of contact for technology-based teaching artists working in digital and darkroom photography, videography, animation, and design
  • Train teaching artists in the use of digital technology available at Marwen
  • Coordinate field trips and guest artists for digital media and photography courses
  • Collaborate with other program staff to evaluate course proposals and provide feedback on courses and programs in digital media
  • Look for new ways to integrate digital learning into on-site studio programs
  • Collaborate with Studio Programs staff on the continued development of virtual courses
  • Co-facilitate the Lab program, offering specialized support to artists-in-residence working in digital media and photography
  • Mentor and partner with interns, apprentices, and studio technicians to maintain studio equipment

Technology Studio Maintenance

  • Ensure studios and labs are reset after each class
  • Maintain best practices, guidelines, and workflows for the use of technology studios and digital tools
  • Collaborate with Associate Director of Technology & Operations to maintain and track the maintenance and replacement of technology equipment including Epson program printers, scanners, DSLR cameras, tripods, lights, microphones, and other supplies
  • Coordinate and track check-out and use of equipment
  • Coordinate the inventory and purchase of digital media program supplies, including hardware, software, equipment, and materials


  • Co-Lead installation of digital works in all Marwen exhibitions
  • Collaborate with Studio Programs staff to curate 3-4 annual exhibitions
  • Oversee the printing of student work
  • Coordinate documentation of course exhibitions


  • Teaching artist experience
  • Digital photography experience (individual creative practice and teaching)
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and equipment
  • Skilled collaborator and communicator
  • Experience with macOS and iOS environments
  • Experience working with audio/visual technology preferred
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud management and software preferred
  • Experience in any of the following disciplines: digital and darkroom photography, digital or analog video, animation, graphic design, 3D design

The compensation for this position is $40,000 - 42,500 annually commensurate with experience and includes full health benefits, generous PTO, and 403b.
