Company Manager: Chicago Tap Theatre

Chicago Tap Theatre seeks a part time Company Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating & enforcing a production schedule for the company's 3-show season and updating the rehearsal schedule weekly
  • Managing communication between production, artistic, and administrative personnel, including:
    • Scheduling production meetings
    • Communicating logistical updates to performers about rehearsals, productions, tours, and external promotional events
    • Communicating basic technical needs & company requirements to venues for productions & events
    • Sending production information (tech schedule, venue info, parking, expectations) to all persons involved in each production
    • Gathering & providing information as needed for Marketing and Development teams
  • Creating safety policies for rehearsals, productions, and events as needed & being the company’s COVID Safety Officer
  • Procuring, crafting, and/or pulling from storage props for smaller-scale productions
  • Booking and managing tour accommodations and itinerary for the company and guest artists
  • Updating contracts for staff and performers and assisting in the hiring process for staff
  • Supervising Company Management Intern(s)

Skills Required: organization, writing, and ability to learn, adapt and grow the position into a larger role

This is a part-time position of 7-10 hours per week and will vary depending on the season schedule. Hours are mostly flexible except there is a required weekly Zoom meeting with Executive Staff once a week time/day (TBD) and a required full staff Zoom meeting once a month (TBD), some required events scheduled at the start of the season and must work to coordinate with production staff schedules.

Compensation is hourly and negotiable DOE.

This position requires someone with expertise in scheduling, communication management, and production management. Experience working with dance and theater companies is a plus. They should also be communicative, self-motivated and detail-oriented. A specific interest in working with a dynamic, growing tap dance company is encouraged!
