Clarinet Sectional Coach | Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras
CYSO @ Moos Elementary Clarinet Sectional Coach
Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras (CYSO) announces an immediate opening for a Clarinet Sectional Coach to work with the CYSO @ CPS program at Moos Elementary.
Now in its fourth year, the CYSO @ Moos Band Sectional Program provides middle school-aged student musicians with an opportunity to focus on instrument-specific skills in a small group setting. The program includes bi-weekly (every other week) pull-out sectionals for grade flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, and low brass students. The Clarinet Sectional Coach will provide instruction in instrument-specific technique, intonation, rhythm, tone quality, and musical interpretation to 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students. The coach will work closely with CYSO’s Community Engagement Coordinator and Moos Elementary’s full-time music teacher and consult with both regarding student progress. The coach must be an expert in clarinet technique and must effectively share that expertise with beginning musicians. The Clarinet Sectional Coach is expected to be present at all regularly scheduled sectionals. The CYSO @ Moos sectional program meets during the school day from October through May. There are approximately 17 weeks of programming held every other week throughout the 38-wk school year.
