Children's Theatre Instructor

South Chicago Dance Theatre is currently seeking drama, playwriting and improvisation instructors to serve in our school day programs through partnerships with Chicago Public Schools. Teachers are responsible for maintaining an engaging curriculum that is performance-based, taking and submitting attendance, and committing to scheduled classes for the 2021-2022 school year. Teachers will be paid as an independent contractor.

Skills & Qualifications:


Work with SCDT's Director of Education to create and deliver an effective instructional strategy.

Collaborate with SCDT's Director of Education to provide quality performance presentations of classes two times per year.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelors of Arts degree in theater or relevant experience.

Self Starter.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Reliable Transportation.

Past teaching experience.


All classes will take place during the school day between the hours of 9:00AM-3:00PM

Compensation: Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and expertise.
