Chicago Underground Film Festival Social Media Manager
The Chicago Underground Film Festival (CUFF) is the longest running underground film festival in the world. Being an internationally recognized program that provides a venue for documentary, experimental and avant-garde narrative film and video, we’re often seen as the outcasts of the film world; a.k.a the cool cousin of the film festival circuit who listens to Nick Cave and only wears black. Our mission is to select and screen film, video and related works that present a diverse lineup of moving image programming, while focusing on filmmakers who are working to reinvent and recontextualize established practices to foster new forms of media art, and build an audience for such work.
The Social Media Manager is responsible for implementing the Social Media Strategy and overseeing day-to-day engagement leading up to and during the festival. This is an internship position and this individual works closely with the Festival Producer.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create, draft, and schedule content for social media (IG, FB, Twitter)Responsible for day-to-day engagement while ensuring CUFF branding + voice is consistent through tone, cadence, style and imageryPlug in social media content calendar Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness + reachDesign graphics + visuals for social media (experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Pro, InDesign and After Effects is a plus) Evening and weekend hours required. The Social Media Manager is a seasonal position, part-time prior to the festival but full-time during the festival week reporting to the Festival Producer.
The Social Media Manager will prepare a festival wrap report and will coordinate a post-festival exit interview with the Artistic Director and Producer.
Compensation will include a modest stipend after festival wrap. Class credits available if appropriate.
