Ceramics Instructor
The Art Center Highland Park is looking for Ceramics Instructors.

The Art Center, a not-for-profit organization, is the North Shore’s home for artistic discovery and creative exploration. Through innovative programs, exhibitions, and classes designed for all levels and ages, The Art Center provides a welcoming space for our diverse communities to experience and participate in the arts.
Although predominately focused on the visual arts, TAC has expanded its mission to include arts in all forms such as writing, acting, performance, and the like.
The Art Center is located in Highland Park, a 30-45 minute drive north of Chicago, and is a 10-minute walk from the Highland Park, UPN Metra Train stop.
TAC Youth Programming
TAC currently offers youth classes in the following media: ceramics, painting and drawing, and mixed media.
During the Fall, Winter, and Spring Terms, Youth classes take place between 4-6 pm on weekdays and 10 am-4 pm on Saturdays. Summer youth programming includes Summer Camps and regular youth classes.
Ceramic Instructors
TAC is currently looking for Ceramic Teaching Artists to facilitate classes for children and adults. Ceramics instructors must be able to work with students of all ages. The ideal candidate will:
• Have at least 1-year experience teaching ceramics in extra-curricular, formal, or informal learning settings
• Have experience working with elementary-age students
• Have a Bachelor of Fine arts degree in visual arts–ceramics preferred, or equivalent experience working in the Ceramics medium
• Be able to teach basic hand-building and ceramics techniques
• Have excellent classroom management skills
• Be available to teach Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays
• Experience wheel-throwing a plus
