Carpenter

LOOKINGGLASS THEATRE COMPANY is seeking freelance Carpenters for the construction and installation of our upcoming show, Lucy and Charlie’s Honeymoon.

Dates of employment are as follows:

Build (at scene shop): December 6th thru December 17th & January 3rd thru January 14th

Changeover (at theatre): January 17th thru February 7th

December 18th thru January 2nd will be unpaid time off

Typical schedule is M-F, 8:00am-4:45pm (45 minute unpaid lunch).

Starting rate is $17.50/hr.

Candidates with partial availability will be considered.

Qualified Candidates:

  • Have basic knowledge of theatrical building techniques
  • Must be able to read and interpret shop drawings
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must be comfortable work atop ladders and at a catwalk height of 20’ above deck height
  • Must be able to repeatedly ascend/descend stairs
  • Excel in fast-paced environment

All fulltime and overhire staff members will be required to complete onboarding and upload proof of vaccination to Paylocity, our payroll management software, prior to the first day of employment.

Shop: 2040 W. Carroll Ave.

Theatre: 821 N. Michigan Ave.
