Bridge Journal Seeking Writers
The Bridge Journal, Chicago's independent, print-only publication of art and public scholarship, is seeking writers for a planned eventual online subscription-based online companion publication.
While the Bridge Journal publishes long-form, deep-dive essays and work in its artist-run editorial sections, the planned eventual Bridge Journal online publication will present more topical content, including reviews, previews, but also shorter-form essays, interactive features, video, etc. The print-only Bridge Journal will be archived in this member area, with new journals made available there 2 years after publication; new Movement Matters series symposia, talks and etc. will also be available to subscribers.
Please note: priority for writing assignments is given to subscribers of the Bridge Journal, and those familiar with our editorial approach and interests, and cognizant of our writing style. Our preferred guide is the Chicago Manual of Style. Please note that at present, we are only collecting names and information, and that a date for the launch of the Bridge Journal online section has not yet been set.
Those interested in writing for the Bridge Journal online should fill out this Google Doc form, which requests a c.v. and links to 3 writing samples, and other information. Once you have been entered into the network, and we begin making assignments, we will reach out to the group for pitches, ideas, and to consider assignments from Bridge section editors.
All writing for the Bridge Journal online will be paid.
We will be accepting responses only until Nov. 15, 2021. Submissions in all disciplines to the print-only Bridge Journal Volume 21, Number 2 are currently being accepted on our Submittable through 11:59pm on Sept. 1, 2021.
