BAC Summer Show Camp Production Manager
DESCRIPTION: The Beverly Arts Center seeks a multi-talented visual artist with technical theatre and classroom experience to collaborate on the design elements of a musical revue and junior musical production for students ages 5-13, as well as to mentor up and coming artistic professionals for the BAC’s Summer Arts Camp.
This position offers a stipend of $750 for five weeks of programming from July 10th-August 11th, 2023.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre, Theatrical Design, Design/Technology, Stage Management, Education, related field, or equivalent field experience
- Experience designing large-scale musicals
- Ability to teach the general aspects of theatrical design (including scenic, lighting, and costume design), to students ages 5-13
- Experience working with children in a performance setting
- Classroom experience preferred
- Must pass a background check, including fingerprinting
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Collaborating with the Performance Staff and Technical Director on the Act One Revue and Act Two Junior Musical production
- Working with campers on design elements needed for the revue and junior musical production including: projections, costumes, props, set pieces, sound design, etc.
- Supervising campers and serving as Safety when campers are in the Baffes Mainstage theatre or scene shop
- Communicating with the Beverly Arts Center Technical Director and Special Projects Coordinator on the needs of the camp performances.
- Designing, or partially designing, elements of the revue and junior musical as needed
- Running, programming, or training others to run lights and sound during the Act One Revue and Act Two Junior Musical production
