Now Hiring: Northlight Theatre is now hiring a full-time Associate Artistic Director. Working under the supervision of the Artistic Director, the Associate Artistic Director is a senior level position working in partnership with the Artistic Director to curate and implement all artistic programming. This includes season selection; cultivating and managing artist relationships; curating & managing Interplay readings and workshops; addressing rehearsal needs; and actively participating in audience engagement and outreach initiatives. This position serves as one of the public faces of the Artistic team of the theatre.

Qualifications: At least 7 years of relevant experience. Must have strong connections within the theatre community; connections that have resulted in bringing new voices to the American Theatre. Demonstrated experience in nurturing new playwrights; commissioning, developing and producing new work. Experience in creatively expanding audiences through outreach and engagement activities; activities that connect the theatre with the greater community. Though not required, access to a personal vehicle and valid driver's license is recommended.
Job Location: This position will include onsite work at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie, as well as seeing shows at other area theatres, meeting with local artists onsite and off, and some travel to see theatre and meet with colleagues nationally. Some remote work is possible. Exact onsite/remote work schedule will be determined based on department needs and staff member preference.
Compensation: Compensation range is $55,000 to $60,000 annually, competitive with prevailing compensation for similar positions within the non-profit performing arts industry, and commensurate with qualifications and experience of the applicant. This position is eligible for benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance and paid time off.
