About Us
Metropolis Performing Arts Centre is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The theater houses 329-seats which hosts hundreds of produced and presented performances each year including a Main Stage subscription series and a variety of concerts, comedy, and cabarets.

Position Overview
The Assistant Stage Manager supports the SM. This role is responsible for assisting rehearsals and ensuring all applicable safety and union rules are consistently followed. This role also assists set changes, costume changes, and stage prep as needed. The ASM will work closely with the SM, artistic team, and Production Management throughout the production.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of SM/ASM experience
  • The ability to work independently and in a collaborative, dialectical manner
  • The ability to guide the rehearsal process and stay on schedule
  • The ability to moderate, express concerns, and ask for assistance
  • Incredible organization skills are a must

Essential Duties

  • Meet with SM, Director, & Production Manager to determine the needs of the production
  • Ensure that all rehearsal and performance spaces are restored and locked after use
  • Assist in creation of schedules, prompt books, breakdowns, and plots
  • Act in capacity of Stage Manager when necessary
  • Attend production meetings, understudy, and put-in rehearsals
