Artist Teacher with Middle Schoolers
The Institute for Jewish Enrichment is creative, empathetic learning, rooted in Jewish texts and driven by children's questions and ideas. We care deeply about the arts as a vehicle for wrestling with ideas, expressing our personal views, and dialoging with one another.
We're looking for an art teacher to work with our 7th and 8th graders who LOVE creating. We specialize in long-term projects that let children grapple with their own views about Judaism while learning artistic techniques, typically in the visual arts. The group meets once/week.
The ideal candidate with be familiar with Jewish practices, know the Hebrew alphabet, be committed to Jewish diversity, and have experience working with middle schoolers (or at least love this age group!).
Compensation is $100/session.
