Apprentice metalworker/finisher
High-end metal fabrication shop specializing in furniture production has an opening for an apprentice metalworker/finisher.
We are seeking talented and meticulous craftspeople wanting to hone their skills by learning and perfecting metal finishing techniques.
Apprentice
Position. Hourly
pay is commensurate with experience. 32-40
hour
permanent
position
possible
after
successful
completion of 8-12 week apprenticeship.

insurance upon completion of apprenticeship.
General
Duties:
Assisting
with metal furniture and
sculpture
finishing and
fabrication.
General finishing includes clear-coat
spray
finishing, various patina processes, sanding, prep (cleaning,
beveling, etc), and weld finishing (grinding, sanding, and detailing
of weld-joints).
Job
requires experience with and enthusiasm for making things, extreme
attention to detail, ability to learn and retain new
techniques/processes, ability to lift 50+ pounds, and a commitment to
maintaining a clean, safe, and friendly work environment.
As
an apprentice
position, candidates will be trained in the necessary skills for the
job, but experience with any or all of the following is a plus: spray
finishing, metal grinding and sanding, mig/tig welding,
art/design/sculpture techniques.
