After School Art Instructor

Unicoi Art Studio, a local children's art studio in Roscoe Village, is seeking an art instructor for after school enrichment programs.

Unicoi's focus is to help elementary age children explore a wide range of creative mediums through knowledgable working artists instructors and high quality materials.

This is an extremely part-time position with potential for growth and availability.

This position requires travel as classes are taught offsite at the schools. Class hours will take place between 2:30pm and 5:15pm.

In addition, all instructors are required to be available to work one weekend/month.

Position will transfer to day camp instructor from June-August.

Instructor Responsibilities:

• Lead a 1-hour art class of up to 15 kids. Including getting them excited and breaking down project into step-by-step format.
• Create a fun and positive environment that promotes exploration and creativity.
• Set-up and clean up all materials required for creation of art project.
• Manage flow of class to allow for completion of project in allotted time-frame.
• Patient personality.
• Knowledgeable in acrylics, watercolors, collage, sculpture techniques, drawing and mixed media.

Pre-requisites:

• Must have availability 2 afternoons a week
• Preferred: Prior teaching experience.
• Reliable Transportation (public or private)

Wage determined by prior teaching experience.
