Adjunct Lecturer/Lecturer, Studio Art, New Media

This appointment is for one year (with the potential to be renewed for an additional year) and will include teaching at least 2-3 courses each in the fall and spring semesters. Courses are intro-level undergraduate courses including: Time-based media (video production and editing, animation, and audio); Digital image making (basic concepts of digital images, digital montage/collage, digital workflows); Interactive media (computational processes, interface aesthetics, and narrative/paper prototyping).

Minimum Qualifications: Terminal degree in studio art, new media, or related field; experience
working with video, audio, and digital image making as tools for art making. Experience teaching time-based media to undergraduate students is required. Candidates should have working knowledge of histories and theories of time-based art and media (including some combination of contemporary art, cinema, new media, design, sound art, music).
Candidates should possess a demonstrated record of professional accomplishments and be in dialogue with contemporary discourse, particularly as it relates to practice or pedagogy. An excellent working
knowledge of appropriate software is required.

Salary: Commensurate with rank and experience.

Proposed Starting Dates:

9-month appointments: August 16, 2022
Fall-semester appointments: August 16, 2022
Spring-semester appointments: January 1, 2023
