Chicago Artists Coalition has hit pause on education programs through 2021, due to funding constraints. Please check back in 2022 for updates.

Initiated in 2013, LAUNCH Invitational Residency is a nomination-based professional development program organized every June for artists emerging from Chicago area undergraduate schools.

Combining career development, creative practice, and community-building, LAUNCH empowers students to identify and pursue the next steps in their professional practice by introducing them to the tools, resources, and networks that will help them achieve their goals.

How LAUNCH works

Chicago Artists Coalition invites a limited number of promising students selected by faculty to participate in the four-day LAUNCH experience. LAUNCH creates an intimate, rigorous environment within which artists learn from both professionals and peers in order to develop a personalized approach to starting a fulfilling career.

In a series of workshops, artist talks, and panel discussions, students are exposed to working artists and professionals from a wide array of contexts throughout the city, making this an excellent opportunity to develop contacts outside of academia. Ongoing engagement with a growing alumni network helps students build their community of peers and be proactive about their artistic career development.

This experience has been incredibly encouraging and informative. I definitely feel much more confident about my future as a working creative - Kacey Arnold, LAUNCH participant, 2019
