Animation Teacher Wanted for Non-Profit Youth Center

Youth for a Better Future is a youth center located in Chicago that provides educational and recreational activities for underprivileged children in the area. Our mission is to empower young people to reach their full potential and lead successful lives.

We are currently seeking an experienced Animation Teacher to join our team and help deliver engaging and educational animation classes to our students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animation and a strong commitment to helping young people develop their skills and creativity.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and educational animation classes to a diverse group of students, ranging in age from 8 to 18 years old
  • Teach students the basics of animation, including character design, storyboarding, and animation techniques
  • Mentor students, helping them develop their animation skills and bring their creative ideas to life
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a positive and productive learning environment
  • Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions to share best practices and learn new techniques
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the field of animation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, or a related field and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience teaching animation to students, either in a classroom or workshop setting
  • Strong knowledge of animation software such as Adobe Flash, Toon Boom, or other digital animation tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students
  • A passion for working with young people and a commitment to helping them reach their full potential
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and collaborate with other teachers and staff

This is a paid position and requires a minimum time commitment of 3-4 hours per week, 1 1/2 - 2 days a week. Our youth center operates Monday to Friday, and hours can be flexible to accommodate your schedule.

Payment: $20-$30/hour, dependent on experience.
