Use your voice to shape literature and arts in Chicago!
76% of all representation in publishing is through the lens of non-BIPOC writers, editors, and artists. Because of this, underrepresented writers and artists continue to experience oppression in publishing. This often results in their cultures, narratives, and sense of belonging being restricted.
Our Solution:
With support from Illinois Humanities, Lucky Jefferson is surveying Black-identifying writers and artists residing in Chicago's North Side, West Side, and South Side neighborhoods to better evaluate the needs and interests of local creatives.How You Can Help:
These focus groups and self-guided survey will deepen our understanding of the local literary community as we plan to cultivate storytelling and interactive experiences, between neighborhoods and artistTake 5-10 minutes to support our research and shape the literary landscape of Chicago through this digital survey.
All entries are eligible for a $100 raffle.
