HOME, A Virtual Exhibition

ENTRY DEADLINE: June 6, 2020

NOTIFICATIONS: June 18, 2020

(One artwork from each submission is guaranteed to be included in this virtual exhibition.)

Exhibition Description:

Due to Covid-19 the theme of home is particularly relevant now. With the Stay at Home orders everywhere, so much of life is impacted. Home is often presumed to be a safe sanctuary or retreat that one goes to reconnect with themselves, but that is not the experience for many who face trauma and violence at home or who do not have a stable home to go to. How have the Stay at Home orders impacted this for so many people globally? How have they navigated resources and relationships from isolation? What of their physical and emotional well-being? And what of those who cannot stay at home because they are essential in their positions or cannot take time off of work and keep their jobs? How has this impacted their relationship to home and loved ones they want to protect there?

Open to women-identified and non-binary artists from the local, national, and international community, Woman Made Gallery is inviting artwork in any media that explores the concept of home. This will be an on-line only exhibition, viewable on Woman Made Gallery’s website and social media channels.

All entries should include a brief theme-related statement (max. 200 words.) We like to receive entries of recent works, but there is no restriction in the creation date. Accepted artworks must not have been previously shown at WMG. The application fee for this online exhibition is $20 for up to three images of work, plus one detail image if necessary. One artwork from each submission is guaranteed to be included. Please let us know if you have any questions: general@womanmade.org.
