Piedmont Craftsmen's Call for Craft Artists to Apply for Guild Membership

Piedmont Craftsmen calls for craft artists to apply for Guild Membership. We invite unique, creative voices making well-crafted, handmade work, in both contemporary and traditional styles, in all craft media to apply. Craft media includes clay, metals, fiber, printmaking, glass, jewelry, photography, wood, and mixed-media. Submit applications for consideration by April 11th.

Piedmont Craftsmen is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to advocating for the excellence of and promoting the value of fine craft. We champion the work of our members, provide education, and create connections to our community as well as collectors.

When you apply to Piedmont Craftsmen you are applying to more than just a beautiful annual show, you are applying for lifetime Exhibiting Membership in one of the country’s finest craft guilds. Since its founding in 1963, Piedmont Craftsmen has evolved into one of the nation’s most highly respected craft guilds, with close to 400 members. Our underlying philosophy is that our Exhibiting Members are by definition innovators, whether that is expressed in their use of materials, techniques, and processes, or through the creative voice.

 Some benefits of Guild Membership include the ability to take part in our annual Craft Fair, consign work in our Gallery year-round, and take part in exhibits. We present an annual Fair that is considered one of the finest in the southeastern United States and Piedmont Craftsmen’s Gallery anchors the Arts District of downtown Winston-Salem, NC.

The application is a two-part process. Submit a small portfolio of images for round 1- the Image Review, via zapplication.org by April 11th, 2023. Images are then reviewed by an annually rotating panel of Guild Members and arts professionals who select applicants to participate in and review their work in-person for round 2- the Object Jury, held during our annual Crafts Fair in November.

Statement on Improving Diversity:  Piedmont Craftsmen is devoted to representing artists from all backgrounds, including all sexual and gender orientations and all racial, ethnic, and cultural identities.
