Perspective as a POC post 2020 (Group Show)

October is Chicago artist month and is the perfect time for you to show your work as a professional. The Black Yuppie is curating a group show at Fortune house located at 4410 S Cottage Grove Ave in Chicago, IL. Opening reception is Friday October 20th, from 6-9pm with work being on display until the end of the following week. Chosen work will reflect originality, skill, and the synchronicity between show’s theme and artists pieces.

Your perspective as a POC post 2020.

Submission requirements:

Must live in the Chicago land area for in-person drop offs, no shipping.

Submissions must be received no later than 09/24. Late submissions will not be accepted. Artist will be notified by email. Those who are not selected will still have the opportunity to be selected for future exhibitions.

There is a $10 submission fee required for all submissions. For this show only, application will stay on file for up to 1 year and if selected for a different show, there won’t be a need to pay another submission fee, unless submitting different work. Submission fees are crucial for securing location, staffing, and cultivating a self-sustaining ecosystem for our artists. Fees are non-refundable.

Please submit up to 5 clear images of your 2D, ready to be hung, art. Selected participates will be notified 09/24-09/30. If your work is not selected, don’t worry. We’ll still be following your evolution and may reach back out for future shows.

Once selected, drop offs will be scheduled between 10/15 and 10/18. Pickups will be scheduled the week after.

After submitting fee and form, email images with title, dimensions, year created, medium, and if its for sale to info@theblackyuppie.com with your name and October 2023 Artist submission in subject line (I.E… johnDoe October’s 2023 Artist submission)
