LOCUS: IV - online gallery show - Call for Literary Artists!
LOCUS is a gallery show that highlights visual artists and literary artists in blind pairings aimed to explore the similarities and differences in interpretations of each other’s work.
LOCUS returns for it’s fourth iteration- and we are excited to announce the gallery show will be a completely online experience- meaning the submissions are now open to anyone interested (not just limited to Chicago)!
I am seeking for twenty-four artists total- twelve literary artists and twelve visual artists to submit. How will it work? All artists will be notified of their acceptance by May 11th and are blindly paired together by the curator. Literary artists have until May 25th to submit their work (new or previously existing) for the show. That work is then shared with their visual artist sans title or reveal of the artist. Visual artists have until June 8th to create a brand new piece of work inspired by, in reaction to- in whatever way related to the literary piece.
The show culminates on The Martin website with a reveal of the artists to each other in addition to behind-the-scenes process media, reaction videos to the work, and a curated moderated discussion about the experience.
