LOCUS Curatorial Apprenticeship
LOCUS is a quarterly gallery show + micro-grant program that marries visual and literary artists in an anonymous creative experiment.
LOCUS Curator Whitney LaMora seeks a curatorial apprentice to help build the LOCUS: VIII gallery show in exchange for knowledge around the LOCUS curation & production process, working with the Board and the apprentice's own opportunity to curate + produce a virtual or in-person exhibition.
The basic asks of this individual are:
+ Be available to take on organizational website & administrative work between August - September, with the heaviest workload happening between mid-August + mid-September
+ Build LOCUS: VIII onto the LOCUS website - fully guided by Curator Whitney LaMora
+ Fully caption all reaction videos on YouTube
+ Shadow curation & production tasks as offered / desired
In exchange for their time & work, this individual will receive:
+ Comprehensive knowledge & tools on how the LOCUS show is managed and built
+ Access to the knowledge base of our Board Member team
+ The opportunity to curate & produce their own gallery exhibit - virtual or online based on individual's location, availability & interest
