InterConnectivity

Is it possible for the world to experience both the hyper-connectivity that comes from social media, the internet, and blurred world boundaries; while at the same time feel disconnected from family, friends, and the world at large?

Art, by its nature, is a conduit, merging artists? ideas into physical entities, connecting to its audience, bridging community. The role art plays in connecting people takes the manifestation of thought and emotion, and then acting as a springboard to build greater levels of communication and ultimately, interconnectivity.

TAC is looking for works that explore the connections that make up our lives, from our relationship to each other, to nature, to community, and especially to ourselves. A broad interpretation of the topic will be accepted as we are looking for unique and interesting examples of our 'interconnectivity' or lack of it.

Challenge: In a bit of 'meta-connectivity', we challenge all artists who find this call for entries to reach out to at least one other artist and invite them to submit to this show to be connected. These invitees can be artists you already have in your database or those whose work you've seen and would be approaching for the first time ever. If you accept this challenge we'd like to document your reaching out and connecting in a short video that will be displayed within this exhibit. Share your stories of connectivity with us at: exhibits@therartcenterhp.org
