¿Estamos…? (We Are…?)

In observance of Hispanic Heritage Month, Side Street Studio Arts seeks entries for ¿Estamos…? (We Are…?)

This is a call for art from any artist to answer the question of identity and place in the community and is open to your interpretation: What defines you? What defines your heritage? What is an enduring trait or characteristic of you? Do you have a feeling or sentiment in response to political, economic or social concerns? How do you see yourself in the world; how do you see yourself collectively as part of a group?

The exhibit is open to the public September 15 - September 30, 2023 with an opening reception Friday, September 15, 2023 from 6-9pm.

Submission Requirements:

Submissions must be received by Monday August 28, 2023 at midnight - late submissions will NOT be accepted. Artists will be notified of their acceptance by email.

Submissions are limited to 3 works, with sets and triptychs counting as one work. All artists and all mediums will be considered including: 2D/3D visual, performance, and video/time-based works. Larger works are also considered. For specific questions regarding size please inquire before submitting.

There is a $5 submission fee required for your submission. SSSA takes no commission on art sales. Side Street Studio Arts Members are exempt from the submission fee. Interested in becoming a SSSA member? More info available here: https://www.sidestreetstudioarts.org/donate
