LOOKING FOR CHALK ARTISTS (Earth Day)
EMERGENCE
Waking into spring
Pulling weeds and planting seeds
The soul is rising
During a time of many global changes and uncertainties, it is the time to dive into the soils of our hearts and to explore the mysteries that are there. What stories need to be told? Is it from your family or ancestors? What are you passionate about? Is there someone who you want to stand up for? Who inspires you? Is there something on earth that you are curious and concerned about? Is there an animal that you feel connected with? What churns your heart? What ideas need to emerge from the cocoon?
This is an event that empowers youth through creativity and honors the earth through uplifting the community. EMERGENCE will take place on April, 22nd, 2023 at the Katalyst and will consist of water ceremony, Chalk art, yoga, live music, youth art exhibition and reception, and a youth open-mic. Money raised at the event will be used to expand community gardens, in providing food for the community (Three Little Birds Gardens) as well as efforts to provide creative therapy to youth in prisons, schools, and communities (SkyArt).
We are looking for new and emerging artists (great for students) to do live chalk art. NO EXPERIENCE WITH CHALK IS NECESSARY! If you Do have experience than that is wonderful too!
