Elgin Fringe Festival 2021 Performing Artist


The Elgin Fringe Festival is an uncurated, multi-disciplined arts festival, featuring dance, theater, music, visual art, and the undefined at venues in downtown Elgin, September 3-12, 2021, with most performances taking place the second weekend.

The mission of the Elgin Fringe Festival is to encourage bold artistic experimentation and innovation by providing an accessible, affordable experience for both artists and audiences alike.

EFF is first come, first served and not curated. 100% of ticket sales go back to the artists!

There is no application fee. Production fees are required upon acceptance to the 2021 festival. You will be invoiced for your production fee. All production fees must be paid via credit card or mailed check. No in-person payments will be accepted. All applications must be received by February 24 at 11:59pm. No late submissions will be accepted. Selected and wait listed artists will be announced by April 13, 2021.

Elgin Fringe Festival PERFORMING ARTISTS are accepted on a first come, first served basis. If you have any troubles submitting your application, please contact EFF Artistic Director Nick Mataragas at Performing artists are able to select one, two, three, or four performances. You will not be able to choose your day and time. However, you can choose the number of performances to offer greater scheduling flexibility and money-making opportunities for artists and a wider variety of performances for audiences! Single performances will have a $85 production fee per performance for up to 3 performances. 4 performances over the 4 days will be $300. There is NO application fee!

All performances are limited to 60 minutes, with an additional 10 minutes to set up and 10 minutes to strike. There is no available storage onsite for sets or props. That's fringe! Plan accordingly!

All our tickets are sold or picked up at Fringe Central/Side Street Studio Arts, at the center of the land of Elgin Fringe Festival. Start educating your audience now; tickets are NOT sold at each venue, and we require a one-time purchase of a $3 EFF button.The button supports the festival so that 100% of your ticket sales go right back to you. We encourage you to put this on all promotional materials and listings.

We will send all communications to one representative from each group, that person's name needs to be listed as the Primary Contact below.

Because of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are considering multiple options for the format of the festival. At this time we are keeping all options on the table. There are questions below to help us understand your level of availability for various festival models.
