Ox-Bow Conversations in Practice: Funded Virtual Program
Looking for a way to connect this winter? This December and January Ox-Bow is running a new, fully-funded, virtual program, Conversations in Practice.
Conversations in Practice brings together small groups of interdisciplinary artists to facilitate studio progress through critical discussion. Participants and faculty moderators will foster connection through the sharing of work, ideas, and conversation.
The December seminar, with Gordon Hall, Christine Tien Wang, Ruba Katrib, or Karen Patterson, will take place over the course of three weeks, giving artists extended time to connect with peers and faculty to share work and receive meaningful feedback. Faculty will ground the class with a series of selected readings and facilitate conversations and critiques.
In January, a shorter set of thematic seminars, with Erica Cardwell, Diana Nucera, Selina Trepp, or Indira Allegra, will be offered for artists to focus on daily studio reflections, material exploration, or writing assignments. Faculty will bring their own inspirations to the group to create unique parameters in each seminar. Faculty will work to facilitate honest and deep communication in the service of fostering motivating and progressive discoveries.
Conversations In Practice (3-week session, November 30 - December 19, 2020) and Conversations in Practice (1-week sessions, January 4-8 and January 25-29)
This a fully funded opportunity for accepted participants. Financial Aid will be awarded to cover full program tuition. Artists can apply for funding here.
Applications are due Monday, November 16, 2020 at 12 p.m. CST and awards will be announced on Thursday, November 19, 2020.
