Weapons Artist - Contract/US (Designing a dagger for a TTRPG game)
JAY Games, a Chicago-based tabletop role play game (TTRPG) company, is looking for a contracted weapons artist to help complete our launch TTRPG product - Under the desert sun.
In this role, you will design the Blade of Ifrit - a critical element in the gameplay of Under the desert sun and all future A Qán adventure titles - in collaboration with the game developer. You may use any digital software of your choice - and you have freedom in how you approach the weapon’s creation.
The ideal candidate has a demonstrated experience with hand-drawn visual art and an ability to collaborate virtually to reach a desired end product. The ideal candidate also has an understanding of calligraphy or is willing to collaborate on alternative designs for a Blade inscription. Additionally, the ideal candidate is comfortable with working on a static timeline. A college degree, GED, or equivalent is not required for this role.
Pay/Compensation
- $100 flat rate paid at completion of art piece by Zelle or another ACH service
- Up to $50 reimbursement for art software used in the production of the art pieces
- Ongoing royalty/profit share (up to 20% pursuant to profit sharing agreement terms) payment paid annually or semi-annually based off physical and digital game sales
- Ongoing royalty/profit share (up to 5% pursuant to profit sharing agreement terms) payment paid annually or semi-annually based off in-person and digital pay-to-play game sessions
