Context 2020: Open Call for Lens-Based Work
Filter Photo is pleased to announce Context 2020, our annual spring open call for lens-based work. This year the exhibition will be juried by Eve Schillo, Assistant Curator Wallis Annenberg Photography Dept., Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).
The juror will consider all types of lens-based work for this annual survey exhibition of contemporary photography. This open theme allows for the widest understanding of current photography practices. She is open to all interpretations and will accept photography and video.
Context 2020 opens March 20, with an artists’ reception on March 27 at Filter Space, and will remain open through April 25, 2020. A juror’s choice award and an honorable mention will be awarded. The juror’s choice comes with a $500 cash prize.
The cost to submit to Context 2020 is $35.00 for up to five entries. All types of photographic and lens-based work will be considered, including short videos (maximum 5 minutes). You may submit any combination of images or video links, up to a total of five. Please note that accepted artists are responsible for the costs of shipping work to the gallery, as well as return shipping costs.
