Call for Visual Artists: FOOD LOCUS

Thank you for being interested in applying for FOOD LOCUS!

LOCUS is a recurring exhibition that marries artists of different mediums in anonymous pairing, creative conversations. Historically we have paired visual & literary artists in this exhibition but are thrilled to experiment with a new medium: visual artists paired with Chefs + Bartenders aka hospitality experts.

This call is currently only open to Chicago-based visual artists.

+ Submission period for artists is May 13th - June 3rd.

+ Visual artists can submit up to five works to be considered. If selected, one work will be shared with a hospitality expert to create a dish or beverage from.

+ Both sets of artists will provide numerous additions to the work including reaction videos, recordings, image descriptions and more - all details provided throughout the experience.

+ Pairings will remain anonymous until opening night at The Martin: August 8th.

+ Each hospitality expert will choose a community give back partner. Guests of the event will vote on the best pairing for the night. The pairing with the most votes will win support toward the give back partner as chosen by that hospitality expert.
