Call for Submissions: Darvin Dances Art Contest!

We are looking for art pieces inspired by rejection and perseverance by artists who reside in the city of Chicago. This must be a 2D piece (no sculpture) that can measure 9 inches by 12 inches and no more than 13 inches on the longer side. They must be ready to hang if you are chosen. You can use any medium as long as it's 2D and within the size restriction.

Contest winners will receive the following: $50 cash prize, their work hung at the dance performance "Inclined to Decline" and the opportunity to bring an additional 2D work (still within the size restrictions) that can be unrelated to the theme. All selected pieces must be available for sale at the performance on July 14th and 15th at The Rooted Space. Darvin Dances will take a commission rate of 10% of any artwork sold at the event

We will select a minimum of 3 contest winners. Deadline for submission is May 15th.

Putting together an art contest and a dance performance takes a lot of administration, consulting, marketing, scheduling and more. While no one will be disqualified from the contest for lack of funds, we do ask for a suggested donation of $5. It is incredibly appreciated and will go straight towards the production.
