Call for Storytellers: Impactful Mentorship Stories
Dorothy, a neighborhood lesbian cocktail lounge located in the West Town neighborhood is partnering with Blacklite Social Club on a storytelling & fundraising event called LEAVE A LITE ON, a night of impactful mentorship stories.
This event not only serves to share inspirational, beautiful stories from our readers, but also to elevate and raise funds for Blacklite Social Club who provides resources to creators and businesses including event management, philanthropy, workshops and mentorship.
We are seeking six storytellers to tell us impactful stories about how a mentor changed or influenced their life or journey! Storytellers get 7-10 minutes to tell their tale. We are especially interested in hearing stories from BIPOC individuals and the queer community - but all are encouraged to apply! Whatever mentorship and person-to-person influence and support mean to you- we want to hear your story.
Performers do not have to be memorized but should be planned and polished!
The event takes place April 30th! Doors open at 6pm & the performance will start at 7pm.
- Performers must be 21+ with a physical ID
- Performers will be paid $50 for their participation in the event
- Performers may submit as a duo or a group but will receive the same payout
- Performers will also receive one complimentary guest list spot and one free drink for the night
Please be thoughtful in your submission! We want incredible tales. Submissions are open until MARCH 20TH & performers will be sent offers shortly after the deadline.
