Call for Art: Yata Bhaavo, Tat Bhavti
Yata Bhaavo, Tat Bhavti
You become what you believe
Submission Deadline: 11:59 pm on Sunday, September 15th, 2024
Exhibition Dates: Oct 4th - Dec 31st
We invite artists to participate in the upcoming exhibition "Yata Bhaavo, Tat Bhavti", an exploration of belief, transformation, and the power of imagination in creating a better world. This exhibition seeks to inspire and challenge artists to delve deep into the idea that our thoughts, beliefs, and actions shape our reality and our future. As we face a current political crisis filled with social despair, we encourage our artists to question the status quo at hand.
Theme:
In Sanskrit, "Yata Bhaavo, Tat Bhavti" translates to "You become what you believe." This ancient wisdom speaks to the profound influence of our inner world on the outer world we create. We are looking for artworks that reflect this theme—pieces that capture the essence of belief, transformation, hope, and the collective vision for a brighter, more harmonious future. How do we envision this future? What issues do we face along the way? We encourage artists to submit works that explore the many factors that impact our collective future, including but not limited to our impact on the environment, global affairs and relations, capitalism, social justice, religious freedom, and how our individual thoughts, beliefs, and actions impact the collective whole.
Medium:
All 2D visual art mediums are welcome, including but not limited to painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, digital art, and printmaking. We encourage artists to unleash their creativity and experiment with innovative techniques to convey their message effectively.
