Art Speaks: A Painter and Writer Event

Have you ever gazed at a piece of art and wondered about the story behind it, only to find yourself creating one in your mind? Art Speaks brings that imaginative process to life by pairing visual art with creative writing. Writers are challenged to craft a story or poem inspired by an artwork they receive—without any prior information about the piece—letting their creativity guide them.

Event Details:

This intimate gathering will take place in collaboration with Christina M. Villa Studio, who has graciously offered her inspiring studio space for the evening. Writers will stand before the original artwork and present their stories or poems, inviting the audience to experience the powerful connection between words and visuals. After the readings, we’ll open the floor for questions and comments before inviting the artist to share their inspiration behind the piece. Expect an evening of creativity, connection, and discovery!

We’re Looking for Writers and Poets!

We’re seeking 6-8 talented writers or poets to take on this exciting challenge. If selected, you’ll have a few weeks to create your piece, which must be no longer than five minutes when read aloud. Writers will also have the opportunity to sell their books or other written work during the event.

How to Submit:

If you’re interested, please send us an example of your work by the submission deadline. We will notify selected writers and provide them with their assigned artwork. Email your work or your website if you have samples on it to elva@vibrantcast.com
