Art Exhibition: "Embrace of Comfort"
This exhibition, juried by artist and curator Kate Vrijmoet, celebrates the theme of comfort, capturing moments that soothe the soul.
Rules for Submission:
Location: The exhibition will take place at Necessary and Sufficient Coffee, located at 728 S Dearborn Street in the heart of Printer's Row.
Artworks: We invite artists to submit original and digital artworks that embody the essence of comfort. Each piece should resonate with this theme and reflect the artist's unique perspective.
Artwork Sales: The coffee shop will facilitate the sale of exhibited artworks and will retain a 15% commission from the final selling price. Artists are kindly requested to price their pieces accordingly, considering this commission.
Shipping: Please note that the coffee shop cannot handle shipping, and artists are responsible for shipping their artworks at their own expense.
Submission Deadline: All artwork submissions must be received by October 1st 2024 through the dedicated Google form.
Exhibition Duration: The exhibition will run for 45 days, starting between October and November 2024. Selected artists will be informed about the details. This extended period provides ample time for art enthusiasts to experience and acquire the comforting pieces on display.
Waiver of Liability: Selected artists must sign a waiver of liability acknowledging that the coffee shop will exercise utmost care in handling the artworks but cannot be held responsible for any shrinkage, damages, or unforeseen incidents. This waiver ensures a mutual understanding and protection for both the artist and the coffee shop.
Detailed Agreement: Selected artists will be required to sign a detailed agreement outlining the terms and conditions of their participation in the exhibition. This agreement will provide clarity on sales, during and after the show, commissions, and other pertinent details.
Artwork Specifications:
- Maximum Size: 60 x 72”
- Medium: All wall artworks, any media, are welcomed.
- All submitted artworks must be wired and ready to hang. This ensures a smooth and efficient installation process for our exhibition.
