4th Midwest Open
EXHIBITION DATES: JANUARY 22 – FEBRUARY 13, 2021

Exhibition Description: Open to all female identified artists residing in one of the twelve Midwestern States to submit artwork for an open themed exhibition. States include: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. All themes, styles, and media will be considered. Artwork that explores or challenges conceptual and material boundaries is encouraged.
Awards: 1st place: $300 | 2nd place: $150 | 3rd place: Honorable Mention
We encourage entries of recent works, but there is no restriction in the creation date. Applicants should submit a general artist’s statement. Accepted artworks must not exceed 72" horizontally and must not have been previously shown at WMG.
The application fee for our juried exhibitions is $30 for up to three images of work, plus one detail image if necessary. A limited number of artists who experience financial hardship may be exempt from paying the entry fee; please send us an email to request a fee waiver: email@example.com.
Juror: Brenda Oelbaum is a feminist, multimedia, conceptual artist, working in whatever medium best translates the intended message.
Brenda holds a MA in Gallery Administration from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and was the founding President of the Michigan Chapter of the Women’s Caucus for Art and is the Michigan Representative for the Feminist Art Project.
