2021 Black Arts Expo

Creations By Cru7_ LLC is seeking African-American visual artists and business owners to participate in the 2021 Black Arts Expo/pop up entitled "Will You March For ME: Redefining the minority". This is a community event to provide power behind the phrase "Black Lives Matter". We want this to be a safe space for black business owners and artists to vibe, while expressing an accurate depiction of our reality. The pieces displayed should depict a unique view on what it's like to be a black person in America. The art should touch on some of our hardships (educational deficits, police brutality, food desserts, medical disparities, our fallen ancestors etc.), as well as pieces that speak to the black state of mind and culture in a positive light.

Please email a picture of the works you want considered for entry, as well as a brief bio. If your piece is chosen, you will be emailed back with further drop off details. Businesses will be approved on a case by case basis but there are no merch/product restrictions. Below are the event details and a breakdown of fees.

When: October 3rd, 2021 - 10am-2pm

Where: The Promontory Chicago (5311 S. Lake Park Ave. West)
